Dances with Dogs Club of Victoria

The Dances with Dogs Club of Victoria has been formed to promote the sport of Dances with Dogs, and to hold trials for competitors in Victoria.

The Club was formed in March, 2010, and in June of this year was accepted for affiliation by Dogs Victoria.

The aims of the Club are:
  • to provide an opportunity for dog owners and dogs of all ages to participate in the sport of Dances with Dogs;
  • through positive re-enforcement training, encourage strong bonds between dogs and their handlers;
  • to provide the opportunity for dog owners and handlers to enter sanctioned competitions;
  • to offer an alternative training and competitive environment that focuses on the new discipline of Dances with Dogs.

Details of upcoming trials are listed under the "Trials" page.

Club members are invited to join in club training days, and also to attend group practice.

Training days are held monthly in the Poultry Pavillion at Dandenong Showgrounds. Classes are run by the Training Co-ordinator, in small classes, so that individual help is available if needed.  All dogs will commence in Foundation for assessment, and will progress through the Levels at the discretion of the Club's Training Sub-Committee.

Group practice sessions are held at KCC Park on Tuesday evenings. These informal sessions enable people to practice with their dogs, either individually or in groups, with experienced handlers on hand to help those requiring assistance.

We welcome new members, with dogs of all breeds and levels of training.
