AGM and Rookie Trial - 31st March, 2012
Training has recommenced at both KCC Park and Bulla, and the year is underway.
Dances with Dogs Club of Victoria is holding its Annual General Meeting on March 31st, and would like to see all members attend. At the AGM, the existing Committee will retire, and nominations for the incoming Committee will be voted on.
Letters informing about the AGM are in the mail, along with nomination forms and proxy forms. The Agenda will be sent out 14 days prior to the AGM.
If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for a position on the Committee, please make sure you have the signed nominations back to the Secretary, Wendy Harrison, by 8th March.
Prior to the AGM, the Club will be holding a Rookie Trial. This trial is for all members of the Club, and is designed for any member who would like to try out a new routine and receive feedback if requested.
Entry fees are $10 per entry.
Members may enter in their current level or above, and are limited to four routines per handler.
All Victorian Judges will be invited to Judge, along with aspiring Judges.
Members are also encouraged to volunteer as Stewards during the Trial, to give them experience in the various Steward roles. This does not mean you need volunteer for the whole trial, but we would like to see people volunteering when they are not in the ring.
This Trial is for practice only, and will not count towards any Titles.
This is a great opportunity to try out new routines within the Club atmosphere before taking them to Trials in the coming months, so we hope to see many of you taking part.

November 25, 2011 Trial
This trial was huge, and a very successful day. With 86 entries on the day, it was going to be a real challenge to run smoothly, and all the prior organisation and helpers on the day made it a very successful event. Many thanks to all the Judges, Stewards and other people who helped on the day.
It absolutely poured with rain, all day, which made it just a tad difficult for people going to and from cars with props and dogs, thank heavens that we are able to have indoor trials in Victoria!
There were 66 passes, which is a real credit to all those who entered, especially given the large amount of starters. Well done everyone.
Highlight of the day was one little "ratter" who had seen and chased a rat the day before in the area, and just wanted to pursue him, wherever he went. Absolutely no interest in the ring area at all, but made us all laugh.
All scores can be found on the Trial Results page, photos of all entries are on the Photos page, and snippets of all performances can be viewed on the Video page.
Another really great trial, and a great day enjoyed by all. May there be many more as good as this!

Trial held on Sunday, October 2, 2011 - The Royal Melbourne Show
Dances with Dogs Club of Victoria was involved in the first Dances with Dogs trial to be held at the Royal Melbourne Show.
With a total of 23 entries and 21 passes, it proved to be a very successful day for showing off our sport. Luckily the sun finally decided to shine on the Show after a week of abysmal weather, which enabled the trial to be held outside. There was a crowd of hundreds watching both the morning trial and the demonstrations put on in the afternoon, and by the feedback and applause they really enjoyed watching the performances.
Congratulations to all who entered the Trial, and many thanks to all those who took part in the demonstration in the afternoon.
Full details of the results can be found on the Trial Results page. Photos of competitors can be seen on the Photos of the Royal page and videos on the Videos page.

Lesley Farish Seminar
Another great seminar from Lesley was held on Saturday, September 10. Everybody who attended the seminar went home with lots of things to work on to get that "WOW" factor in their routines. Lesley also took private lessons on Sunday, which were really appreciated by those lucky enough to book a place. Lesley is a great choreographer in the sport of Dances with Dogs, and can really spot what works for both handlers and dogs.
Many thanks from all of us lucky enough to attend, Lesley, and hope to see you back again very soon!
